Agenda: Evaluating the Role of Non-State Actors in Escalating the Iran–Israel Conflict and Their Implications for Regional and Global Security.

The Iran–Israel region has become increasingly volatile due to the growing influence of non-state actors operating across borders and proxy networks. In this committee, delegates will examine how militant groups and armed organizations contribute to escalation, destabilize regional security, and draw external powers into conflict. Through dialogue, participants will explore strategies to limit proxy warfare, strengthen state accountability, and reduce the risk of wider regional and global confrontation while balancing deterrence, sovereignty, and long-term stability.

Assistant Director

Aariv enters committees armed with a repertoire of Drake quotes and nursery rhymes, along with his inability to form a sentence without erupting into laughter. Picture this: a heated debate on the vaccine apartheid suddenly punctuated by Aariv dropping a Drake line, turning the mundane debate into a rap battle of wit. "Hotline Bling'' becomes "Hotline Debate," and delegates can't help but chuckle at the unexpected lyrical diplomacy. Amid intense negotiations, Aariv values substance-backed debates in tandem with confidence, transforming diplomatic discussions into energetic speeches. Aariv's unique blend of theatrics creates an atmosphere where delegates can't predict what's coming next. Aside from MUN, Aariv is extremely passionate about boxing, so don’t cross him. If you do end up annoying him, you can praise the Golden State Warriors to get on his good side. But either way, this committee is going to be a huge rollercoaster of emotions. Get ready for one of the most entertaining committees you will ever experience.

Meet Ayaan Wadhwa, a man from the most boring town in New Jersey; Marlton. However, don’t be taken ridiculous by his calm appearance, his speeches can drop delegates to the floor (just like IShowSpeed at WWE), with as many Sicko Mode references included as you can ask for, and paperwork written better than Kendrick's horrid new album. As a chair, he values speeches with creativity, humour, and cold hard facts. Anybody can approach him with any queries or concerns, for he is the epitome of a Chill Guy. If you truly want to get on his good side, anything remotely related to the following : Arsenal Football Club, the ninja turtle known as Kylian Mbappe, and Rubiks Cubes (which he claims to be a professional at) will suffice. Insult any of the following, along with his muscles (or specifically, his lack of them), and your day is more likely to result in a 10 minute barring than an award. That aside, his goofy demeanour, constant support and likable energy is obvious, making him a delegate’s favourite, with a fantastic MUN experience filled with fun, energy, and excitement a sure thing! Surya Lakshman

Assistant Director

Surya enters a conference with half a page of research and a loaded brain, improvising all his speeches and hoping the facts are correct. If he were to be described in one word, it would be ‘turbo’ - the only thing that thrills him more than watching Formula One cars blast through the tracks is a heated open floor or an exhilarating 3v3 in committee. Surya answers the most meticulously crafted POIs like it's nothing, probably because he spends all his time outside committee defending Tottenham (Arsenal hate is the fastest way to getting a chocolate in committee). The only person crying harder than Surya’s opponents in committee is Surya himself whenever Ferrari bottles another race. Surya is more than a chair; he is a mentor, he is a friend, and he is always aiming for pole position in committee. His approach to POI’s doesn’t change when he’s a chair; you may have to entertain many questions from the EB as a delegate under him. One thing’s for sure: if you’re in Surya’s committee, you are guaranteed to have a blast. (Written by Zahra Affendi)
