Agenda: Ensuring Basic Hygiene for All Children

Worldwide, there are millions of children who do not have safe water, sanitary facilities, or basic hygiene resources necessary for their health and development. Delegates in this committee will discuss the various challenges children face as well as their impact on children's health, in the context of global health. Furthermore, through evidencebacked debate, the delegates will discuss solutions to ensure that all children around the world have access to the resources they need to maintain their health and to a clean, safe environment in which to thrive.

Assistant Director

Surya enters a conference with half a page of research and a loaded brain, improvising all his speeches and hoping the facts are correct. If he were to be described in one word, it would be ‘turbo’ - the only thing that thrills him more than watching Formula One cars blast through the tracks is a heated open floor or an exhilarating 3v3 in committee. Surya answers the most meticulously crafted POIs like it's nothing, probably because he spends all his time outside committee defending Tottenham (Arsenal hate is the fastest way to getting a chocolate in committee). The only person crying harder than Surya’s opponents in committee is Surya himself whenever Ferrari bottles another race. Surya is more than a chair; he is a mentor, he is a friend, and he is always aiming for pole position in committee. His approach to POI’s doesn’t change when he’s a chair; you may have to entertain many questions from the EB as a delegate under him. One thing’s for sure: if you’re in Surya’s committee, you are guaranteed to have a blast.

Meet Ayanssh Tilani, the self proclaimed Sir Alex Ferguson of Model UN, running committees with just enough control, chaos, and last minute drama to keep everyone on their toes. With four years of MUN experience, he has seen everything from procedural disasters to miracle resolutions somehow passing at the last second. His favourite MUN experience would definitely be at OIS MUN 2026 where one of his favorite rappers, Playboi Carti was sadly killed during a crisis where he easily adapted and enjoyed the rest of committee. At some point during committee there is always a chance he might randomly do a somersault on the floor during committee, purely to make sure the chairs and delegates remember the session forever.Outside the chaos he is actually really nice, approachable, and always happy to help delegates with procedure, speeches, or strategy. Basically the kind of chair you can talk to about MUN, life, or why Manchester United will definitely win the league next year while he sings his lungs out to drake between committee sessions.(Written by Avirath Padora)
